Solo Flute/Vocal for Senior Programs
This type of program is something different: Think Vaudeville!
 I dress up in 1940s-50s style evening wear or ball gown type dresses with fancy hats. I play music from the 30s, 40s, and 50s on the flute and also sing the song. Many of the tunes are from Broadway and film. I have created a continually expanding repertoire that is memorable to many older adults. I add contemporary songs to demographics that include younger residents and ethnic songs for specific groups like Spanish songs for Latin people, traditional Jewish songs for Jewish residences, etc. Both the ladies and the men love me and the program is upbeat and fun. One comment I have received several times is how nice it is to be able to hear the words and melody clearly without a lot of extra stuff going on and I encourage the audience to sing along with me.I have been asked to come back for repeated performances and have performed at several of the Atria residences, Castle Senior Living Residences, Prospect Park Care Center, Scharome Home, Long Island Living Care, and Sterling Glen in Forest Hills to name a few. The audiences really seem to get a bang out of the performances. The goal of my program is to evoke happy memories, provide a visual as well as aural experience and above all, to have a fun time. I tailor my performances for specific events as well as the season of the year and it is great for birthday parties.
